Integrated Education Instructor


 

As an Integrated Education Instructor, you will help students reconnect with one another, celebrate their successes, and support their social-emotional learning growth while engaging in a fun overnight camp experience.

We are elated by your interest in learning more about our work and joining our seasonal staff team. We are looking for mature, enthusiastic, and hardworking individuals who role model the principles of Honesty, Caring, Respect, and Responsibility (HCRR) in words and actions to be a member of the Sherman Lake YMCA Integrated Education (I.E.) team.

 

Qualifications:

Applicants must be 18 years or older, available Monday through Friday, days and overnights.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate an overnight cabin group of students from programs beginning to end using diligent supervision and application of Sherman Lake YMCA’s relationship building, emotion management, responsibility, empathy, and personal development tools.

  • Set up and facilitate all programs run through Sherman Lake YMCA Camp such as climbing, archery/mineshaft, fire building, team building/low ropes, kayaking/canoeing, geocaching/orienteering, nature & art (training provided).

  • Provide diligent, professional supervision of students during overnight programs that aligns with Sherman Lake YMCA’s policies and procedures.

Salary Range:

Salary Range $75 - $100/day

*Salary increases come with relevant experience, education and certifications (examples: lifeguard and high ropes)

Benefits include shared housing and meals during the program, along with a seasonal YMCA membership.

Dates of Employment:

This is a seasonal, full-time position. Positions are available during the Fall (late August-early December) and Winter/Spring (early February - early June). Free certification courses are available for Sherman Lake Integrated Education staff before staff training.

  • To recognize and effectively resolve conflicts based on camp values and procedures.

  • To seek out and use camp resources to create meaningful, unique experiences for youth.

  • To work proactively and collaboratively with students and fellow staff showing spontaneity and creativity.

  • To create a safe environment and unique experiences for students.
