Occupation Wild is a job board for the outdoor, adventure, and travel industry, founded in 2018 on the belief that if it’s just for a season or for a lifetime, there is nothing more rewarding than working in the outdoors. Spearheaded by travelers and outdoor professionals, Occupation Wild’s easy to navigate platform and growing audience of outdoor enthusiasts attracts some of the best companies in the outdoor industry. Fueled by a passion to help people redefine how they see their careers in June 2019 the spin-off The Occupation Wild Podcast was launched to showcase travelers, athletes, entrepreneurs, and outdoor professionals who left the traditional to live life beyond 9 to 5.
Courtney Condy - Founder/ CEO
Courtney Condy was a recent college grad who felt disillusioned with the corporate grind while living and working in San Francisco. A last-minute trip to Nepal in 2015 changed her life forever when her trekking group got caught in the middle of an 8.1 magnitude earthquake two days away from Everest Basecamp. Upon returning to the US she quit her job and became an Adventure Travel Guide and began leading trips all around the US and the world. She founded Occupation Wild in 2018.
Alex Sanson - Client Relations Specialist
Alex Sanson is a surfer and rock climber from Souther California who truly lives life beyond 9 to 5! Traveling for surf or exploring locally in his backyard of the Mojave for desert granite. These are the things that he gives credit to that have shaped his perception of what truly brings knowledge and wealth. He is proud to be part of the Occupation Wild family and to be able to help others find their own adventure!
Nate Thompson - Client Relations Specialist
Nate graduated from Chico State with a degree in Environmental Economics and started his career working in Water Conservation. After years of working in the corporate world he realized he was meant to do more than grind at a desk all day and came across Occupation Wild, inspired to help others work in the outdoors. An avid backpacker and trail runner, Nate is currently training his newborn son to help him navigate his next adventure.
Dalton Johnson - Occupation Wild Podcast Co-Host
Dalton Johnson is an award-winning commercial and editorial storyteller focused on the human experience in our natural world. Wielding a camera and pen, Dalton's adventures push him, and his subjects, into hard-to-reach locations in the mountains and ocean, but his stories will ground you in the experience. Pulling at your emotions, his work balances beauty and grit in every story. Dalton came on as a Co-Host in 2022.
