Wrangler

The individual will be responsible to perform the combination of the following services to assist the ranch in its daily operations.

Day Responsibilities:  

  • Feed & care for horses  

  • Start 2 year old colts  

  • Saddles and unsaddles horses  

  • Keeps tack shed, barn area & arena clean and presentable at all times  

  • Adjusts equipment to accommodate each guest.  

  • Orientation for each new group of guests on riding rules, regulations & expectations.  ∙ Assists guests in mounting and dismounting.  

  • Keeps guests safe & in line throughout duration of the trail ride  

  • Knowledge of terrain & history of Antimony to share with guests  

  • Entertains guests by singing, telling stories, or explaining the history of Antimony on trail rides. 

  • Plan supplies & provisions for extended or overnight trips (cattle drives or family retreats). 

  • Participate in overnight trips by setting up camp, cooking dutch oven, participating in daily activities and  assisting guests & insuring their safety and enjoyment.  

  • Participates in rodeos provided by ranch  

  • Roping Clinics for guests  

  • Keeps equipment safe and in good repair (saddles, blankets, bridles, etc)  

  • Assists Ranch Manager with ANY task needed (fix fence, painting cattle drive, branding,  housekeeping, dishwashing, maintenance, ect)  

  • Performs responsibilities assigned by Supervisor or Manager  

Evening Responsibilities:

  • Harness & Unharness team for hay-wagon ride when assigned  

  • Take guests on hay-wagon ride when assigned  

  • Entertains guests by singing, telling stories, or explaining the history of the town of Antimony on hay wagon ride when assigned.  

  • Assist in the Kitchen when assigned  

  • Assist in campfire & entertainment when assigned  

  • Participate in line dancing lessons when assigned  

  • Participates in dances & other social functions when assigned  

Qualifications & Experience:  

  • At least 5 years of horseback riding experience  

  • Ferrier Experience a plus  

  • Horse Training Experience  

Personal Qualities:  

  • Ability to relate, connect and entertain guests with different cultural, ethnic, and social-economic  backgrounds.  

  • Work independently with little supervision.  

  • Ability to motivate and support the Rockin’ R Ranch team at all times.  

 

 

Prep Cook

Performs any combination of following duties to maintain kitchen work areas and restaurant equipment and utensils in clean and orderly condition. Assists cook in required tasks.

Daily Responsibilities Include but are not limited to: 

  • Assists Cook with meal preparation  

  • Washes and peels vegetables, using knife or peeling machine.  

  • Sweeps and mops floors (in kitchen & in dining areas).  

  • Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks.  

  • Segregates and removes trash and garbage and places it in designated containers. 

  • Hoses-out garbage cans  

  • Washes pots, pans, and trays by hand.  

  • Scrapes food from dirty dishes, washes them by hand, places them in dishwashing machine. 

  • Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.  

  • Sets up banquet tables.  

  • Assists Cook in unloading trucks delivering supplies and food.  

  • Helps put away new delivery supplies & food  

  • Wipes down & sanitizes dining room tables & chairs  

  • Sweeps under tables & chairs in dining room  

  • Wipes down & sanitizes serving areas  

  • Wipes down & sanitizes drink area  

Qualifications:  

Knowledge  

  • Commitment to quality service, and food and beverage knowledge.  

  • Awareness of local, state and federal health and sanitation laws.  

  • Understanding of proper use and maintenance of major kitchen equipment, including stoves,  refrigeration, slicer, knives, and dish machine.  

Skills/Aptitudes: 

  • Ability to work in a high-energy and demanding environment.  

  • Is a team player.  

  • Works well under pressure.  

  • Can effectively solve problems.  

  • Able to take direction.  

Working Conditions  

  • Standing for long hours.  

  • Direct contact with guests, managers and employees. 

  • Behaves professionally and can be flexible in a changing environment.  

  • Must be able to carry loads greater than 35 pounds, and be able to transport up to 70 pounds regularly. 

  • May be required to fill in with other ranch responsibilities depending on the situation. 

  • Able to dedicate yourself completely to the Rockin’ R Ranch for the season. Excellent attendance is  required!  

Other Requirements:  

  • Must have a current Food Handlers Permit, CPR and First Aid Certifications


 

General Staff

The individual will be responsible to perform the combination of the following services to assist the ranch in its daily operations. Depending on the day the individual will be assigned to the following areas: Activities, Housekeeping, Kitchen Assistant and Assistant Wrangler.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:  

Day Responsibilities  

  • Help supervise & lead safe & fun activities for groups of 2-20 people. 

  • Work as a team member to help implement the 2021 season with enthusiasm 

  • Feed animals on the ranch when assigned 

  • Keeps activity, campfire & pond areas clean 

  • Archery 

  • Hiking 

  • Inner-tubing down the river 

  • Skeet-shooting 

  • Guided Fishing Trips 

  • Pony Rides & petting barn 

  • Kids crafts & treasure hunt when assigned 

  • Knowledge of terrain & history of Antimony to share with guests 

  • Entertains guests by singing, telling stories, or explaining the history of Antimony during scheduled  activities.  

  • Participates in rodeos provided by ranch  

  • Keeps equipment safe and in good repair (archery bows & target, innertubes, etc.)  

  • Assists Manager with Maintenance around the ranch (mow lawn, painting, garbage pickup, sprinkler repair  etc.)  


 

Baker

The individual is required to be a highly professional Baker with commercial kitchen experience. Also, required that the person has experience cooking in a dutch oven as well as experience preparing meals for large groups (should the need to “fill in” arise). The person will work under the Kitchen manager to provide exceptional desserts and breads for our guests on a daily basis.

Daily Responsibilities Include but are not limited to: 

  • Preps & bakes excellent, cost effective, desserts & breads  

  • Sets excellent customer service and work examples  

  • Does a simi-weekly inventory on baking supplies needed  

  • Cleans work station after completing your tasks  

  • Assists with Dutch Oven Meals when needed  

  • Assists with meal planning when needed  

After Prepping:  

  • Cleans work station & washes used equipment  

  • Performs additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by the Lodge Managers at any time.  

Qualifications:

Housekeeping Personnel

Responsible for the overall clean appearance of the Lodge, cleanliness is one of the most important features the Ranch can offer its guests. The individual will be responsible to perform the combination of the following services to assist the ranch in its daily operations.

Responsibilities Include, but are not limited, to: 

Day Responsibilities:  

 Must properly clean:  

  • All private rooms  

  • All hallways & stairwells & keep them dust free 

  • Public Restrooms 

  • Conference Room 

  • Billiard Room 

  • Sitting Areas on Main floor 

  • Dining Room (when needed) 

  • Wash Windows  

  • Replace Light Bulbs 

  • Laundry Room: 

    • Washes Laundry  

    • Folds Laundry Properly & puts it in its proper place  

    • Restocks cleaning baskets for the following day  

    • Puts away & organizes any new supplies or equipment  

  • If housekeepers notice anything in a room or in the lodge that is not working properly, report it to the  supervisor. 

  • Performs responsibilities assigned by Supervisor or Manager  

Evening Responsibilities:

  • Entertains guests by singing, telling stories, or explaining the history of the town of Antimony on hay wagon ride when assigned.  

  • Assist in the Kitchen when assigned  

  • Assist in campfire & entertainment when assigned  

  • Participate in line dancing lessons when assigned

The Rockin’ R Ranch is currently hiring for ranch positions this summer. Jobs will start as early as April 1st. We are looking for wranglers, recreation counselors, general staff, kitchen staff, front-desk receptionists, and housekeeping staff.
