We’re looking for crew members to join us for our Summer Season (exact dates vary by position). Employees receive Room, Board, salary and gratuities from guests. Gratuities (received during 16-week guest-season) are generous with opportunity to earn more by participating in extra activities with guests.

Assistant Chef

Position is Seasonal from:  May 25th  through October 14th.  Priority given to applicants who can commit to the full season.

Duties will include but are not exclusive to:

  • Assisting the Head Chef and staff in food preparation for 60 to 70 people, three meals a day; 

  •  Prepping, cooking (breakfast/eggs, lunch/grilling) and baking

  •  Maintaining a clean work area.

  • On the Head Chef’s days off (Wednesday/Thursday):

    •  Planning and preparing meals for the day with support from the prep chef and input from the head chef

    • Using the Sysco app Thursday to place an order for what is needed for the next few days

    •  Managing the staff and the kitchen as needed

 

Prep Chef

Position is Seasonal from:  June 1st through October 9th.  Priority given to applicants who can commit to the full season.

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist the Head Chef and staff in food preparation for 60 to 70 people

  • Three meals a day; prepping, cooking (breakfast/eggs, lunch/ grilling) and baking and maintaining a clean work area. 

  • On the Head Chef’s days off: work with the Assistant Chef in the creating and execution of meals placing food and supply orders.

  •  Pre Chef works 5-days a week with 2-days off. 

Requirements:

  • The physical ability to do the job; lifting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching and more.

  • Work experience in the food industry, professional cooking and

  • baking experience “from scratch” required.

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

  • Must be energetic, intelligent, out-going, responsible, conversational, trustworthy,
    compassionate

 

Housekeeper + PM Dishwasher

Position is Seasonal from: May 25th through October 9th.  Priority given to applicants who can commit to the full season.

Responsibilities: 

  • Cleaning guest cabins and other ranch facilities (inside and outside)

  •  Rotating daily chore schedule including: laundry, ironing, assembling bagged to-go lunches, watering plants, filling bird feeders, etc.

  • Rotating shifts in kitchen for dishwashing

  •  Guest cabin turnover on Sundays

 Housekeepers work 5-days a week with 2-days off. All housekeepers work on Sunday for guest turnover days. Days off may vary from employee to employee to fit the ranch schedule.

Requirements:

  • Physical strength and flexibility; to be able to do the work of lifting, climbing, kneeling, reaching. etc.

  • Must be energetic, meticulous, self-motivated, proactive, willing to work independently, trustworthy, responsible

Adult & Kids Wranglers

Position is Seasonal from: May 11h through October 14th.  Priority given to applicants who can commit to the full season.

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide group and individual guest instruction in horsemanship and riding out on
    the trail

  • Participate in daily Barn activities including taking care of our herd, feeding and
    minor doctoring of horses, grooming and saddling/unsaddling for rides, cleaning
    coral + riding arena, loading hay, etc

  • Lead half-day and full-day rides to various locations around the valley, interacting
    with guests and providing them with conversation during their rides.

  • Driving 8-horse trailers, and transporting guests to offsite ride locations, safely
    and courteously

  • Rotating Wrangling shifts to fetch horses in from pasture before breakfast and
    leading them out after work

  • Participate in upkeep of trails and pasture areas (clearing fallen trees, fence
    repair, irrigation)

  • Kid’s Wranglers oversee Kid’s Program on Thursday when the Kid’s Counselor is
    off including overseeing meals and leading non-riding activities

  • In addition to leading rides off the ranch, the Kid’s wranglers lead horse games
    and activities including: Tag, Gymkhana, horse painting and parade

  • May be asked to drive the tractor for Wagon Ride on Thursdays

Requirements: 

  • Knowledge and experience with horses and riding instruction 

  • Physical strength and flexibility; to be able to do the work of lifting saddles and hay bales, kneeling, reaching, sitting in a saddle for several hours, and more 

  • Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record

  • Current CPR and First Aid certification

  • Experience with chainsaws for trail clearing not required but a plus. 

  • Must be energetic, responsible, exercise good judgement, intelligent, out-going, conversational, trustworthy, patient, compassionate  

 

Head Housekeeper

Position is Seasonal from: Early May through October 14th.  Priority given to applicants who can commit to the full season.

Responsibilities:

  • Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to work well with others. Responsible for daily scheduling and supervision of the housekeeping staff.

  • 5 day work week (early season training and set-up schedules may vary) Each day starts early, and daily schedules vary. Sundays are guest turnover days and therefore the longest day. All housekeepers work on Sunday

  • General Housekeeping duties include; the organization of cleaning the lodge, inside and out including guest bathroom and lodge porches, manager’s office and other rooms in office building, barn bathroom, all guests cabins, laundry of towels, kitchen towels & tablecloths, pillowcases and ironing of pillowcases/sheets and kitchen items. Assist other housekeepers in their responsibilities as needed. 

  • Other HH duties include weekly ordering of supplies and daily in-house laundry. Check every cabin after guest change-over before new guests arrive and randomly at least once a week. •Checking and inventorying employee housing…when they arrive and leave. Setting up schedules for cleaning the crew bathroom, Stubby’s and the crew laundry. Stocking the employee laundry

Head Wrangler

Position Duration: Seasonal from May 4th through October 14th. Additional days in the fall as required for projects. Certain tasks within this role may occur outside of this season and are paid hourly as duties are executed.

Staff Leadership & Training

  • Assist the Ranch Manager in the hiring, training, and supervision of wranglers.

  • Train wranglers in barn procedures, horse handling, guest safety, and ride operations.

  • Assign daily wrangling duties, ride schedules, evening activities, and weekend chores.

  • Oversee staff performance and address conflicts or performance issues, escalating to management when necessary.

Guest Ride Operations

  • Organize and manage daily ride logistics, including scheduling, horse and saddle assignments.

  • Ensure trails, pastures, horses, and facilities are prepared for guest operations.

  • Address guest comments or complaints related to riding activities in a professional manner.

  • Track daily ride counts and horse usage.

Horse Care & Herd Management

  • Oversee daily care, feeding schedules, water access, hay and grain inventory, and overall welfare of all horses.

  • Oversee veterinary and farrier care, including vaccinations, worming, injury treatment, and medical scheduling.

  • Supervise quarantining, training, and integration of new horses into the herd.

  • Oversee buying and selling of horses to maintain target herd numbers.

  • Act as primary point of contact for leased horses, winter pasture arrangements, and brand inspectors.

Facilities, Equipment & Tack

  • Maintain all barn facilities, pastures, gates, fences, and trails.

  • Oversee maintenance, organization, and inventory of tack and barn equipment.

Records, SOPs & Compliance

  • Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for barn and horse management.

  • Ensure completion of all required record-keeping, including horse usage logs, incident reports, and daily ride records.

Emergency & On-Call Responsibilities

  • Serve as on-call emergency contact for horse-related issues, alongside the Assistant Wrangler.

  • Respond promptly to equine emergencies and coordinate appropriate care and communication.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience with horses and riding instruction

  • Familiarity with basic vetting needs and coordinating with vetting team

  • Experience in leadership within barns, preferred

  • Experience overseeing staff, preferred

  • Physical strength and flexibility for lifting saddles and hay bales, kneeling, and riding for extended periods.

  • Must be 21 or older, possess a valid driver’s license, and have a clean driving record.

  • Current CPR and First Aid certification, a plus. (WFA training will be provided for those without.)

  • Chainsaw experience for trail clearing is a plus.

  • Energetic, responsible, good judgment, conversational, trustworthy, patient, and adaptable to varying schedules and duties.

 

Pasture Manager

Position is Seasonal from:  Start date TBD. The position is a summer seasonal position, May through September. If necessary to depart in August, this can be considered.

Responsibilities: include but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring and improving pasture health and growth

  • Removal of invasive weeds

  • Removing deadfall from forests

  • Coordinating and executing strip grazing where possible in coordination with the Barn, utilizing mobile hotwire/fencing

  • Upkeep of pasture fences 

  • Record keeping of pasture utilization and grazing logs, soil health progression, and invasive weed mitigation tasks

  • Maintaining and utilizing select irrigation systems while creatively finding ways to improve

  • Planning and executing reseeding in the fall season

Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

  • Preferred experience and ability to use a chainsaw, tractor, invasive weed spraying equipment, troubleshooting equipment issues, and a background in range management, horticulture, or equivalent experience

  • Physically able to do the job, including lifting, bending, and kneeling

  • Fast learner, willing to work independently, and proactive in solving pasture management issues and fulfilling long-term seasonal goals

 

Rover

Responsibilities: include but are not limited to:

  • Pre Season kitchen help and assist in opening of crew cabins

  • PM Dishwashing 5 nights a week ( Friday- Tuesday) 

  • Sunday assist housekeeping with laundry 

  • Scheduled town run on Fridays and others as needed

  • Landscaping as needed 

  • Other duties as assigned 

  • The Rover position is 5-days a week with 2-days off.
