Kids Counselor - Seasonal Position June - August 2026
About the Role
Kids Counselors play a key role in creating an active, engaging, and fun program for children ages 4–17. Our counselors are responsible for planning and leading age-appropriate activities that cater to a variety of interests and energy levels, ensuring every child has a safe and memorable experience.
This is a dynamic, hands-on role. Kids Counselors also serve as floaters, assisting in other ranch departments — a positive can-do attitude is essential.
Primary Responsibilities
Supervise and actively engage with children at all times, ensuring safety, fun, and involvement in planned activities.
Plan, coordinate, and lead weekly activities tailored to children’s ages and interests, including arts and crafts, scavenger hunts, nature walks, kayaking, fishing, kids' ATV and bike rides, movie nights, and much more.
Collaborate with other staff to ensure activities run smoothly, adapting plans as needed.
Maintain all program equipment, ensuring proper storage, cleanliness, and working condition.
Assist with other ranch duties as needed, including activities, nighttime activities, lodge support, and general operations.
Required Qualities & Skills
Enthusiastic, responsible, and proactive in creating positive experiences for children and families.
Previous experience working with children of various ages, such as babysitting, camp, teaching or in a recreational setting.
Safety-conscious and committed to following all ranch safety guidelines.
Flexible, adaptable, and willing to assist with a variety of ranch tasks as needed.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with children of all ages and backgrounds.
Team-oriented and able to collaborate effectively with other staff members.
Must hold a valid driver’s license and feel comfortable driving children when necessary.

About the Role
Activities Guides play a vital role in creating the unforgettable guest experience Majestic Dude Ranch is known for. Guides lead and support a wide variety of activities each week, including fishing, hiking, biking, lake activities, shooting sports, archery, paintball, ATV tours, kids’ program activities, and evening events like Human Foosball and Mechanical Bull Riding.
This is a diverse, hands-on, and highly dynamic position. Activity Guides must have flexibility, teamwork, and a positive can-do attitude.
Primary Responsibilities
Guide guests safely and confidently in a range of outdoor and recreational activities, adjusting experiences based on guest needs and skill levels.
Prioritize safety at all times, including conducting thorough pre-activity briefings and following all ranch safety protocols.
Greet and engage guests with professionalism, warmth, and exceptional customer service.
Anticipate guest needs and activity requirements by preparing equipment, setting up areas, and resolving potential issues before they arise.
Required Qualities & Skills
Self-motivated and proactive, able to work independently without constant supervision.
Highly organized with excellent time-management skills and the ability to multitask.
Calm, supportive, and professional demeanor, especially when handling unexpected changes or challenges.

Fly Fishing & Mountain Biking Guide

Mountain Biking Responsibilities:
Guide guests of varying experience levels on a wide range of trails and terrain, tailoring rides to suit beginners, intermediate, and advanced riders.
Fit guests to the appropriate bikes and provide instruction to enhance their riding skills.
Conduct safety briefings and ensure all guests are prepared and comfortable before rides.
Maintain a calm, patient, and guest-focused demeanor to deliver excellent customer service.
Safely guide groups and confidently navigate diverse trail systems.
Uphold safety standards and ensure guest safety at all times.
Maintain the bikes, ensure all equipment is clean and functional, and keep the bike shop organized and tidy.
Drive a passenger van with a hitch and trailer to transport bikes and guests to and from excursions.
Fly Fishing Responsibilities:
Provide guidance and instruction to guests of all skill levels, including beginners.
Maintain and organize the fly shop, keeping equipment clean and ready for use.
Demonstrate knowledge of fly tying and fly fishing techniques to assist guests effectively.
Ensure safety standards are met during all fishing excursions.
Qualifications:
Strong knowledge and experience in both mountain biking and fly fishing.
Comfortable driving a passenger van with a hitch and trailer.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to maintain a calm and patient demeanor.
Strong sense of direction and navigation skills for guiding groups on diverse trails.

Wrangler

About the Role
Wranglers are essential to the Majestic Dude Ranch experience, providing expert care for our horses and leading unforgettable trail rides and activities for guests. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role that requires strong horsemanship, a positive attitude, and excellent teamwork.
We value kind, patient, and respectful horsemanship — aggressive training or mistreatment of horses is never tolerated. Wranglers must maintain a calm, understanding demeanor with horses and uphold safety and care standards for both animals and guests at all times.
At least one full season of trail-guiding experience is required.
Primary Responsibilities
Care for approximately 60 horses under the supervision of the Barn Manager, including feeding, grooming, and administering basic veterinary care.
Saddle and unsaddle horses and lead trail rides for guests and staff.
Supervise arena activities such as team penning and children’s rodeos, and provide riding lessons for children and adults.
Maintain the barn, tack room, loading area, and pastures in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
Learn to identify all ranch horses by sight, name, and personality.
Assist with maintaining trails, fences, corrals, and other ranch facilities.
Evaluate and ride young or problem horses in the arena or on trails, under guidance from the Head Wrangler.
Required Qualities & Skills
Outgoing, friendly, and hardworking with excellent horse-handling abilities.
Confident riding in rough terrain with a strong directional sense.
Safety-conscious, prioritizing the well-being of guests, staff, and horses.

Primary Responsibilities
Prep ingredients, including meats, vegetables, and other items, according to directions from kitchen managers.
Assist with basic cooking tasks; prior kitchen prep or cooking experience is required.
Clean the kitchen, including washing dishes, pots, and pans, and maintain cleanliness in walk-in refrigerators and freezers.
Set up and break down buffet and action stations for meal service.
Clean and maintain kitchen equipment such as grills, smokers, and the soft-serve machine (training provided).
Support the lodge team with additional tasks as needed to ensure smooth operations.

Ranch Facilities and Maintenance Team Member

Our ranch, nearing its 100-year anniversary, with that it requires constant care and upkeep, making maintenance an essential and ongoing responsibility. Housing is available, and compensation is hourly, based on experience. During the summer months, this position also participates in the tip pool. The maintenance and facilities team member is an integral member to keep our daily operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform basic maintenance and repairs across the property, including plumbing, vehicle upkeep, pool maintenance, fencing, and landscaping.
Proactively assess the property to identify potential issues and address them before they escalate.
Prioritize tasks daily to ensure the most critical projects are completed efficiently.
Work independently, taking initiative to manage time and projects effectively.
Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces in an organized, clean, and safe condition.
Collaborate with other staff members as needed to support the overall operations of the ranch.
Refuel Ranch vehicles and ATVs daily for Ranch operations
Haul ATVs with a trailer each week for our scheduled ATV tour.
Required Qualities and Skills:
Must be kind, mature, and professional in interactions with guests and staff.
Honest and dependable, with a strong sense of responsibility and integrity.
Free of all substances, maintaining a clear and focused work ethic.
Basic knowledge and experience in plumbing, electrical systems, vehicle maintenance, pool care, fencing, landscaping, and carpentry.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to anticipate maintenance needs.
Ability to adapt to evolving priorities and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Must be able to haul a trailer and operate a tractor.
Daily Tasks:
Maintain vehicle cleanliness, fuel, and fluids
Maintain ATVs cleanliness, fuel and fluids
Deep clean vehicles after each week to prepare for guests
Maintain the workshop to keep a clean and organized space
Perform routine maintenance and upkeep throughout the ranch property (unclog toilets, fix door handles, change lights, etc.)
Clean swimming pool and hot tub daily and cover at night.
Mow, trim, water and maintain lawn/grass.
The General Ranch Maintenance and Facilities Team Member position will be overseen by our Head Maintenance Manager and Ranch Management Team.

Majestic Dude Ranch is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Breakfast Cook & Pastry Chef to help craft fresh, from-scratch meals for our guests throughout the summer season. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who loves early mornings, homemade baked goods, and being part of a fun, hardworking team.
Requirements
Previous experience working in a kitchen
A passion for fresh, homemade cooking and baking

Ability to follow recipes while also adding thoughtful creativity to specials
Breakfast cooking experience is a plus — but we’re happy to train the right candidate with strong fundamentals
Enjoys rising with the sun and can work early morning shifts for multiple days in a row
Primary Responsibilities
Prepare daily breakfast meals for guests and staff, including hot items, sides, and baked goods
Bake pastries, breads, muffins, cookies, and assorted desserts
Create hearty, fresh salads for lunch and dinner using seasonal ingredients

Assist with prep for other meals as needed
