Carpenter (Facilities & Grounds) Seasonal/Full-Time
This position works with the facilities maintenance staff. The Facilities & Grounds technician assists the Manager with basic facility maintenance including cleanliness, safety, and organization of buildings and parking lots at Granby Ranch. The Facilities and Grounds technician will work directly with the Maintenance manager on repairs to the building, structures and new construction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Indoor Maintenance – minor repairs including but not limited to plumbing, toilets, doors, windows, floors, trash receptacles, light bulbs, trash and recycling collections, vacuuming, and other indoor cleaning and maintenance items.
Outdoor Maintenance – general maintenance of decks, walkways, patios, lawn & flower beds, parking lots, trash and recycling receptacles; includes snow and ice removal, gravel and ice melt application and removal, basic irrigation knowledge, holiday lights and decor.
Employee Housing - repairs and maintenance; remodeling as needed.
Parking Lots – utilizes staff, cones, ropes, signage, fencing as necessary to maximize parking capacity during high volume days.
Events – assists with execution of weddings and events including outdoor and indoor set up on patios, lawn, top of chair lift etc.
Managing one's own time, with the ability to independently complete tasks.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Establish and maintain positive and productive working relationships with other departments and staff members, aiding and supporting as needed.
Communicate and work with F&B and Sales/Events team members for effective execution of special events, parties, weddings and onsite events.

Requirements
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of hand tool use and safety.
Knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, and general building maintenance with the ability to enhance knowledge with research.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in building maintenance industry.
Must be 21 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Background in construction is highly preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
Ability to lift up to fifty (50) lbs.
Walking, bending, carrying, lifting, reaching, kneeling, shoveling, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders.
Work in variable weather conditions including cold, icy, and winter conditions.
Some 50+ hour work weeks, particularly during holiday periods.
Must be able to stand and walk for an entire shift.
Station Attendant/Prep Cook (Winter 2025/2026)
The Station Attendant/Prep Cook is responsible for friendly, efficient serving of food to guests as ordered in accordance with portion size and presentation as outlined by the chef. This position also assists with prep duties as assigned, maintains a clean and sanitized workstation, and assists with kitchen set up and clean up during every shift.

Operate passenger vans following all motor vehicle laws of the State of Colorado.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Teach quality skiing/snowboarding lessons as assigned, following standard PSIA-AASI progressions.
Attend training clinics as scheduled.
Report to class line-ups as scheduled and on time.
Adhere to uniform and appearance policies.
Always adhere to all safety requirements and standards (see Know The Code), including, but not limited to loading and unloading lifts safely.
Follow appropriate children center procedures when assigned there.

Ticket Agent (Winter 2025/2026)
The Ticket Agent promotes and sells our products including lift tickets, season passes, rental equipment, ski & ride school lessons, events, and more. The ticket department is responsible for providing and answering all information for our customers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Maintain an organized, clean, efficient workspace, and maintain sanitization throughout the day in accordance with company policy.

Sell and process Granby Ranch Season Passes.
Assist with Rental, Retail, and Reservation Center departments as needed and as requested.

Organize prepaid reservation packets for the following day.

Reservation Agent (Winter 2025/2026)
The Reservation Center Agent is responsible for receiving, responding to, and following up on all phone calls, emails and requests directed to Ski Granby Ranch. As a Reservation Center Agent, you will be communicating with our customer base in an efficient manner selling- including, but not limited to season passes, lift tickets, rental equipment, ski school lessons, and lodging.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Ski Patrol (Winter 2025/2026)
The role of the winter patroller is to ensure a reasonably safe skiing environment. Provides medical assistance and evacuation, guest safety, search and rescue support, trail work, lift evacuation, daily responsibilities, equipment maintenance, and other assigned duties. Each task requires a high level of decision making. Computers (proficiency in Microsoft Office programs), technical rope experience.
Compensation: Hiring rate of $18.50+, actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Medical assessment, stabilization/treatment and evacuation. All staff must be at least EMT-B certified and trained to respond to any likely eventuality in a winter alpine environment. Training in the Mountain Emergency Plan, triage, and multi-system trauma.
Reporting/Documentation: Incident investigation procedure, preservation of the facts, forms and records. All staff will be familiar with (and held accountable for) the complete documentation of a given event that might include standard reporting, photographs, witness statements, diagrams, etc. This is a very labor-intensive, time-consuming activity. Considerable training is required, as well as the necessity to remain sensitive to the needs of family and friends of the injured party.
Establish a reasonably safe skiing/biking environment, i.e. trail checks, trail openings/closings, early season preparation, boot packing, maintenance, obstacle marking, signage, sweeps, and special race preparation.
Snow safety: All staff will be familiar with the terrain at Granby Ranch Resort.
Search and rescue: All staff must know about the formulation of a preplan (Mountain Emergency Plan), practice drills, and execution.
Lift evacuation: Responsible for the evacuation of people from a lift in the event of an extended breakdown.
Skier education: Enforcement of Skier Safety Act, i.e., boundary management, safe skiing, speeder control. Being visible to the public for skier information.
Training/development: All staff will participate in training and demonstrate proficiency in all areas of patrolling. This constant and ongoing process includes medical preparation (medical lectures), lift evacuation, snowmobile certification, mountain/company policies, inter-company relations and contacts, etc. Ski improvement through all terrain with varying technical terrain and conditions.
Construction, maintenance, preventive maintenance inspections of equipment (duty stations, toboggans, medical, search and rescue, radios, emergency medical vehicle, and snowmobiles).
Duty station assignments: PHQ, TOW, FAR Patrol Dispatcher(s), Patrol Room Orderly, and snowmobile driver.
Computers: Incident records input for the development of reports submitted to the insurance carrier, weather and snow safety factors, forms and records, and word processing. Weather facsimile for the development of weather forecasting.
Integration with other Granby Ranch departments for smoother functioning within the company. Orientation of employees in areas of mountain safety awareness.
Retail Cashier (Winter 2025/2026)
The Retail Cashier position is responsible for selling all merchandise in the Granby Ranch Retail Shop. The Cashier provides friendly, fast, and efficient service to all Granby Ranch guests. This position assists with monthly inventory counts, keeping products stocked on the floor, and communicating items to be replenished to the manager.
Compensation: $17.00 per hour
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Accurately process purchases utilizing the point-of-sale system and process payments with efficiency.
Accountable for monetary exchanges at the cash register, including cash handling, processing credit cards, and applying discounts accurately.
Assist guests with shopping, helping them with sizing and showing them items available.
Stay informed on ski area operations, overall Granby Ranch operations and events.
Keep the shop and storage room organized, clean, and fully stocked at all times.

Guest Services Host (Winter 2025/2026)
The Guest Services Host is the front-line ambassador of Granby Ranch, responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to all guests. You will assist visitors with information, support ticketing, rentals, and ski school operations, resolve guest concerns, and ensure a welcoming and seamless mountain experience.
Compensation: $17.00 per hour
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Greet guests with enthusiasm and provide accurate, friendly, and helpful information about the resort, mountain conditions, activities, and services.
Assist with guest check-ins and general inquiries at locations needed.
Resolve guest concerns or issues promptly and professionally; escalate when necessary.
Monitor and manage guest flow in high-traffic areas to ensure a positive experience.
Collaborate with other departments (ski school, rentals, lift operations, etc.) to support a seamless guest journey.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the main hallway and outside areas where guests will be at.
Stay informed about daily events, mountain operations, and weather updates to relay accurate information to guests.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Commercial Operations Manager or supervisor.

Lift Electrical/Maintenance Supervisor (Full-time/ Year Round)
The Lift Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for inspection, maintenance, and repair of components for all aerial tramways and conveyor and extensive knowledge and experience with the electrical aspects of ariel tramways and conveyors. This position works daily in the field with the mechanics performing daily inspection and start up and shut down procedures, training mechanics, trouble-shooting mechanical and electrical issues. This position must be able to read electrical schematics and have strong ability to troubleshoot and repair lift control systems, night ski lighting, and assist with electrical troubleshooting throughout Resort.
Compensation: $34-$37 an hour
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot low voltage systems on all lifts and conveyors as well as general electrical needs throughout the resort.
Performs pre-operational lift start-up inspection to ensure that each lift is ready to run each day.
Performs annual maintenance and periodic inspections on lifts to ensure reliability and compliance with applicable standards.
Inspect lift for hazards and potential hazards involving passengers, employees and machinery.
Has working knowledge of and performs routine mechanical maintenance on lifts to maintain lifts to CPTSB, ANSI, lift manufacturer and insurance carrier standards.
Assist with preparation of written response to annual CPTSB inspections and communicate with the CPTSB for all reportable incidents.
Troubleshoots lift problems as they occur.
Works closely with the Lift Operations Team to ensure the successful daily operation of Granby Ranch chairlifts and conveyors.
Responsible for Lift Maintenance in absence of the Lift Maintenance Manager.
Responsible for mountain night lights.
Perform electrical related duties throughout the resort.
Operates shop equipment and power and hand tools both in the shop and on the mountain in the repair and maintenance of lifts.
Advises the Lift Operations Manager of changing conditions or occurrences that may adversely affect the lift machinery and/or its passengers.
Reports and/or corrects conditions which may negatively affect guest or employee safety.
In the event of an emergency, follow Granby Ranch policies and procedures.
Attend periodic safety meetings to increase safety awareness.
Wears appropriate safety equipment.
Assists with building and installing modifications to CPTSB, ANSI, lift manufacturer and insurance carrier standards.
Operates shop equipment and power and hand tools both in the shop and on the mountain in the repair and maintenance of lifts.
Assists with Lift Operations as necessary.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Minimum 5 years of experience in ski area lift maintenance.
Minimum 5 years with ski area lift and conveyor electrical systems.
Minimum 4 years leadership experience.
Strong knowledge of Colorado Passenger Tramway Safety Board (CPTSB), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), and lift manufacturer guidelines.
Demonstrates diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with ability to research issues utilizing industry contacts and experts.
High school diploma or GED is required, and industry experience commensurate with position.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position requires work on weekends and holidays and some evenings during high volume times and night ski operation.
This position is 90% outdoors with a high exposure level to all types of weather conditions and temperatures.
Lifting up to 50 pounds individually, or more with assistance.
Work long hours in high alpine environment in cold temperatures at altitude above 8500 feet.
Lift, kneel, climb, balance, stoop, crouch, stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach, grasp, feel, hearing, talking, repetitive motion, and working at heights above 6 feet using fall protection.
Exposure to: chemicals required for cleaning, de-greasing, and painting, fumes produced in activities ranging from cleaning to painting to fabrication of metal products. Noise generated by snowmobiles, lift equipment, compressors, and tools may require hearing protection to be worn.
Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees in English.
Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
Dexterity to handle small and large tools, type on a keyboard.

Housing
Granby Ranch offers employee housing including private room options. Rent ranges from $650-$1200/month and is taken directly out of biweekly paychecks. A security deposit of $325 (refundable) and an admin fee of $75 (non-refundable) are due upon check-in. We recommend paying at least one week's rent upon check-in but do not require it. Having a car is recommended but not required; employee transportation is provided during the winter season between housing unit, work and the grocery store. Housing inspections are conducted biweekly.
