Full Time Guide, Acadia National Park


Good Trip Adventures is seeking full time guides for Acadia National Park! Relocate to this stunning location for the summer season and spend your days leading naturalist tours through the mountains and waters of Maine. You'll be one of 3-4 guides in our Maine region, leading day tours and hikes with a naturalist and educational focus. 

You’ll be expected to work 3 or 4 days in the field each week, with one day to do trip prep and clean up. Your field days will be consistent each week (Mon-Thu), unless you’re requested on a multi-day adventure or specialty tour.


This is a salaried, non-exempt position with overtime available. Work hours will be logged and include time in the field, driving company vehicles, trip preparation, gear maintenance, administrative tasks, and other miscellaneous tasks. Hourly rate is between $16-22 / hour (see hiring page for full details) with overtime at 1.5x and tips available.

A relocation reimbursement is available to mitigate housing costs. Immersive training is provided. Previous guiding experience / training in natural sciences is preferred but not required. This position requires relocation to within 1-2 hours of Acadia National Park.

Position would run from late May through late October

 

Requirements:

  • Below certifications completed by start date (Good Trip will assist with obtaining once hired):

    • Wilderness First Responder or higher (valid for duration of 2024)

    • CPR (valid for duration of 2024)

    • Leave No Trace Awareness

    • ServSafe Food Handler

    • DOT Physical

  • Valid US Driver’s License

  • Strong communication skills. Full time guides are expected to be responsive to emails and active on the guide communication channels.

  • Strong time management skills to keep up with trip needs, prompt reporting, and client communications.

  • Comfort in a self-directed environment. You should feel confident taking initiative and seeking solutions.

  • Investment in personal growth. Full time guides are the leaders and mentors of our team!
