Hiring:



 

Group Counselors work with one group of 10-15 campers for an entire session and lead their group at many activities throughout the day. Group Counselors help campers develop life skills through coaching, role modeling, and fostering a connected group founded in friendship and respect. Each Group Counselor also has a Co-Counselor or a high school intern, and the team works collaboratively together to facilitate a positive, playful, and impactful experience for campers.

 

Lifeguard/Swim Instructor


 

Lifeguards teach swimming skills through playful, game-centered lessons during structured lesson times and lifeguard the pool during free swim, focusing on the safety of all individuals. There are at least four swim instructors/lifeguards in addition to the Head Guard at camp, and all Lifeguards work collaboratively to maintain a safe and fun swimming program.


 

Animal Care Instructor


 

Animal Care Instructors create and teach an animal care curriculum for campers ages 4-8, and focus on different topics each week like the animals’ digestive systems or eye and teeth shape. Animal Care staff work together with the Pony staff to create and teach a fun and informative curriculum. 

 

Arts & Crafts Instructor


 

Arts & Crafts Instructors implement a creative, hands-on outdoor arts & crafts program. Arts & Crafts Instructors work together to plan lessons and foster campers’ artistic interests and skills, teach campers of all ages, and have the opportunity to develop camper creativity. 

 

Camp Photographer and Social Media Specialist


The Camp Photographer and Social Media Specialist is responsible for capturing the essence of what makes Kinneret such a magical place for its campers. They take, edit, and post photos to Facebook, Instagram, and Camp’s website throughout the course of the summer. They work closely with our Directors/Leadership Team to compose all messages to ensure a cohesive message across all communication. The Camp Photographer and Social Media Specialist must understand the importance of child safety and privacy on social media.

Additional Requirements: The Camp Photographer and Social Media Specialist should have at least one year of social media experience in social media management and content creation, particularly Facebook & Instagram.

 

High Ropes Challenge Course Instructor


 

The High Ropes Instructor introduces 4th-9th grade campers to our high ropes course and teaches campers about safe climbing and goal setting. The High Ropes Instructor encourages campers to practice overcoming fears and accomplishing goals by coaching campers to take on incremental challenges on the course.


 
 

Nature & Ecology/Gardening Instructor


 

Nature & Ecology Instructors facilitate hands-on learning about the natural world through active lesson plans and nature crafts. Nature & Ecology Instructors lead nature-related activities throughout camp, like guiding hikes, assisting campers with a recycling/composting program, and facilitating craft-based lessons on topics such as the food chain or the water cycle. The Gardening Instructor facilitates the planning and cultivating of our camp vegetable garden and introduces campers to food science and sustainability. The Gardening Instructor teaches children the basics of composting, water conservation, and other sustainability measures.

 

Performing Arts Instructor


 

Performing Arts Instructors facilitate a creative dramatic arts program, incorporating a variety of music, movement, and theater. Performing Arts Instructors introduce campers of all ages to activities like improv games, playacting, dance, tumbling, yoga, and more.

 

Rock Climbing Wall Instructor


 

The Rock Wall Instructor teaches 3rd-9th grade campers the basics of climbing on our 25′ portable rock wall, creating a fun and safe environment where campers challenge themselves. The Rock Wall Instructor encourages campers to practice overcoming obstacles and accomplishing goals and works together with Group Counselors to help campers conquer their fears. The instructor also works as a roving counselor or assists in other instructor positions when they are not working at the rock wall.

 

Naturalist/Wilderness Play Facilitator


 

The Naturalist/Wilderness Play Instructor assists groups in our on-site wilderness play program. Wilderness Play at camp involves unstructured, imaginative outdoor play for 3rd graders and up. Campers spend time with their peers exploring and creating in our camp “wilderness,” and are encouraged to use natural elements such as rocks and sticks to build a world for themselves and their peers.

Applicants must be college-aged or older. Some positions require certain certifications.

Staff ride the bus to camp each day with their campers. Buses leave from North Hollywood, Sherman Oaks, Encino, Tarzana, Woodland Hills, Calabasas, West Hills, Agoura, Westlake, Thousand Oaks, Moorpark, and Newbury Park. If your home is within 30 minutes of any of these locations, you can easily be a part of our program this summer.
