Additional Information About Camp Gallagher
Situated on the sunny shores of Case Inlet in the South Puget Sound, Camp Gallagher is one of the most stunning summer camps in the world. Here, middle and high schoolers unplug from screens and schedules to dive into nature, friendship, adventure, and stewardship.
The Gallagher community celebrates diversity—campers of all genders, races, abilities, and sexual orientations are welcomed and supported.
Gallagher Expeditions is our roaming, high-adventure program for campers who can’t sit still. Using Camp Gallagher as a base, these teens set out by land and sea, exploring the Puget Sound, camping in a new spot each night, paddling, singing, laughing, and testing their limits as they work together. Expeditions are challenging but accessible, designed to push beginners while still leaving time to relax and soak in the outdoors.
All staff are responsible for leading overnight boat trips on the Puget Sound and fully participating in the adventurous culture of camp. As a staff, we strive to be hardcore adventurists—pushing ourselves and our campers out of comfort zones in a supportive community to foster growth, confidence, and resilience.
Our summer season runs mid-June through late August, with some opportunities in the shoulder season. Staff participate in a 10-day training, then lead sessions of varying lengths with 2½-day breaks in between. Staff are based on camp property for the duration of each session, fully immersed in camp life and operations--and because we run a small, tight-knit program, availability for the full summer is strongly preferred.
