About ADAK

ADAK is a new type of social community connecting elite athletes through weekly experiences.

Rates of loneliness, mental health issues, and depression are on the rise. We believe we can address these issues for our members through consistent experiences designed to connect people in-person. Ranging from Saturday kickbacks and weekend athletic tournaments to group hikes and book clubs, we provide weekly experiences our members can easily access right in their neighborhoods.

ADAK membership is exclusively for elite athletes, their significant others, and their close friends. By focusing on current and former, college and professional athletes we are able to provide the highest quality experiences for our members.

We do not expect ADAK to fill the void a lifetime of competitive athletics can leave in a person's life. Instead we believe it can be a place for athletes to come together to shape their next chapter.

Note: it is NOT required for you to be a current or former elite athlete to work at ADAK!

Additional Information About ADAK

ADAK, the place for Athletes, was created to provide elite Athletes with community after they retire from their formal careers. Ranging from immediately upon retirement to years after their last competition, many Athletes struggle transitioning away from the structure and camaraderie of their sport. This struggle is so common psychologists have given it a name: identity foreclosure.

At ADAK, we believe that we can help address this issue through consistent, in-person community. Our Founders were Athletes at Duke and USC (SoCal), and also struggled with the transition away from sports. Even after finding success in the professional world something did not feel right to them. With the exception of a few college friends, they had limited support from anyone outside of work and home. As their network began to move to new cities, our Founders realized that there was no consistent place to meet the type of people they enjoyed spending time with. Social clubs were expensive & not their kind of people, rec sports leagues were a good place to get hurt, gyms lacked a sense of purpose, and anything digital felt unfulfilling. So our Founders created something new. Outside of work and home, ADAK is a third place created for former college & professional Athletes to help Athletes build close personal relationships.

We do not expect ADAK to fill the void a lifetime of competitive Athletics can leave in a person's life. Instead we hope it can be a place for Athletes to come together to shape their next chapter. It is a place for Athletes to continue to do the activities they like, with the people they like to be around, all while discovering new passions that they did not have the chance to explore while training at the highest levels.

We are working every day to build a fulfilling and accessible community through in-person activity and face-to-face connection. In doing so, we seek to create a world in which we, ourselves, want to live. If you want to help us build the next generation of community, we want to hear from you.
