Hiring: Adventure Tour Leader


We are seeking an organized, customer service oriented, energetic leader who possesses an adventurous spirit, exceptional people skills, a strong work ethic, and is looking for an exciting challenge to lead our 1-3 week small group adventure tours throughout North America. New hires are expected to be available during peak season, June – August. Our tour leaders exemplify the same genuine passion & respect for wildlife & the outdoors that has propelled Windigo in the ecotourism industry for more than 20 years. Along our tour routes, we celebrate the vibrant, diverse cultures that constitute our beautiful continent, and relish in the opportunity to connect our international travelers to the land and the people who belong to it.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Safe & Smooth Execution of a Detailed Itinerary

  • Safely Driving a 15 Passenger Van with a 5x10 Enclosed Cargo Trailer in Tow

  • Organization & Administration of Daily Schedule of Activities

  • Acting as Sales Intermediary between Clients and Local Vendors while Establishing and Retaining Strong Professional Relationships with these Local Vendors

  • A Congenial Demeanor, an Adventurous Spirit, & a Strong Ability to Process a lot of Information Quickly to Make the Best Decisions for Our Travelers

  • Basic Knowledge of Assigned Destinations’ Ecology, History, Geology, & Culture (Information provided by Windigo, although ability to absorb, retain, and pass along such information is an expectation of the tour leader)

  • Leading Safe and Satisfactory Day Hikes

  • First Aid / CPR Certification  -REQUIRED- (partial reimbursement available)

  • Competent Application of Leave No Trace Principles

  • Dedication to Premier Customer Service

  • Excellent Communication Skills (In addition to our English led tours, we also operate French, Dutch, German, and Italian Speaking Tours, so DON’T FORGET to let us know if you are Bi-lingual!)


  • Lead Small Groups of International Travelers through some of North America’s Greatest Locations, including National Parks, Iconic Cities, and the Scenic Back Roads & Byways that bind them

  • Working with Small Groups allows our Tour Leaders to Create a More Intimate Connection between our Travelers, the Places they Visit, and the People they Meet

Applicants must be at least 23 years of age, love being outdoors, have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and must be able to pass a pre-employment physical.
