Girl Scouts of Western Washington Summer Camps are dedicated to building campers of courage, confidence, and character who strive to make the world a better place. Everything we do is focused on helping our campers grow strong and challenge themselves in a safe community where they can be brave and have fun. We strive to create a supportive and inclusive community for all campers and staff.

Girl Scouts of Western Washington Summer Camps are offered on three diverse properties in Washington State which provide unique outdoor opportunities for Campers All three facilities provide fun, engaging, and educational programs to young women, including arts/crafts, nature, canoeing, swimming, and outdoor skills. Camp River Ranch is in Carnation and is our largest camp program, offering the widest range of program areas to campers. Activity areas include Western riding, canoeing, kayaking, biking, arts and crafts, archery, high challenge, rock climbing, drama, gardening, and so much more! Camp River Ranch hires 90 staff members and has between 225 and 300 campers every week.

Archery, Challenge Course, and Climbing Wall Instructor:

Love archery? Love climbing? How about high challenge courses? Want to do all three? Here's your chance!River Ranch is seeking dedicated individuals to teach archery, climbing, and facilitate both low and high challenge course experiences this summer. Referred to as "ACC Specialists," these three staff members rotate through the activities, working with campers ages 10-17. Training is provided. ACC Specialists sleep in outdoor cabins in a Overnight Camp Unit and participate in camp life with that unit, including cookouts, overnights, and campfire, and provide as needed support to Unit Counselors.

Minimum Qualifications:

Current CPR and First Aid or willingness to obtain prior to camp, 19 years of age, Willingness to be trained to perform rescues at height. Employment Dates: June 3 – August 18; Starting salary: $225-300 per week, depending on experience. Room, board, and training provided; professional development opportunities available.

Unit Coordinator:

HELP CAMP STAFF TO BECOME THE BEST THEY CAN BE! While camper development is a main focus of camp, we recognize that staff are here to learn and grow as well. The Unit Coordinator position is designed to support growth in our Counselors and assist them throughout the summer. Unit Coordinators (UCos) serve on our Leadership Team and play an important role in setting the tone for summer and ensuring that camp runs smoothly. River Ranch hires six UCos who work within assigned areas of camp, overseeing all camper and staff activity. They supervise 8 – 10 staff members and assist with staff training, evaluations, and camp closing activities. 

Minimum Qualifications: Must be 21 years of age or older; preference given to applicants with experience supervising peers. Employment Dates: May 27 - Aug 23; Starting salary: $315-345 per week. Room, board, and professional development opportunities available.


Office Manager:

Girl Scout Camp River Ranch is seeking dedicated individuals to run our summer offices. We hire two Office Managers to work in either our Day or Overnight Camp Office, answering phones, managing mail, printing paperwork, and managing our Camp Store. The Office Manager plays a vital role in making our summers successful and has opportunities to participate in a variety of camp activities, including boating, horse back riding, campfires, and so much more! Minimum Qualifications: Current CPR and First Aid or willingness to obtain prior to camp; 21 years of age or older. Employment Dates: early June - late August; Starting salary: $275-310 per week
