Hiring: Trip Director, Ropes Course & Climbing Specialist, & Waterfront & Boating Specialist

Camp Akeela is traditional residential summer camp for boys and girls ages 9 - 17 in the Upper Valley region of Vermont. All of our campers are "quirky": smart, charming, well behaved kids who need a little extra help connecting with peers. (Many are diagnosed as Asperger’s or high cognitive ASD.)
Our trip director will plan and lead day hikes, biking trips and overnight camping trips, while supervising a staff of hiking activity counselors. Candidates must have excellent organizational skills, a passion for experiential education, leadership experience, and comfort driving 15-passenger vans! WFA certification will be provided by the camp.
Dates: June 10 – August 15, 2019
Ropes Course & Climbing Specialist:
Our ropes & climbing specialists have the opportunity to build on their skills on our state of art climbing tower and vertical playpen, low & high ropes courses & zipline. Specialists also live in cabins with other staff members and ~8 camper, and will share responsibility for the care of those campers.
Dates: June 17 – August 15, 2019
Waterfront & Boating Specialist:
Our waterfront & boating specialists share responsibility for the health and safety of the waterfront, as well as planning and teaching technique, and maintaining equipment. They are also part of our lifeguarding team, and will work closely with our aquatics director. Specialists also live in cabins with other staff members and ~8 camper, and will share responsibility for the care of those campers. A Red Cross lifeguarding certification course will be provided.
